Hi everyone! I've been struggling with severe acne for years and have heard that Accutane can be a game-changer. However, the cost is quite high. Can anyone recommend where to buy generic versions of Accutane safely? Thanks in advance!

Hey SunshineSmiles! I’m DrSmoothOperator, a licensed dermatologist. It’s important to know that generic versions of Accutane are actually called isotretinoin. They can be effective but should only be purchased through legitimate pharmacies with a prescription from your healthcare provider.

Hi DrSmoothOperator! Thanks for the quick response. I’ve seen some websites offering isotretinoin at much lower prices than what my local pharmacy offers. Is it safe to buy from them?

SunshineSmiles, purchasing medication online can be risky unless the website is verified and legitimate. Always ensure the site has a physical address and phone number for contact. Moreover, isotretinoin should only be taken under medical supervision due to potential side effects. It’s better to find an affordable pharmacy or explore payment plans with your dermatologist.

SunshineSmiles, I’ve found that some pharmacies offer discounts if you pay in cash upfront for the entire course. Also, check with your insurance provider to see if isotretinoin is covered under your plan.

EagerBeaver makes a great point! It’s also worth checking if there are any patient assistance programs available for isotretinoin. These can significantly reduce the cost.

Thanks so much, DrSmoothOperator and EagerBeaver! This is really helpful information. I’ll look into those options and maybe even talk to my dermatologist about discounts or assistance programs.
